How to use

Install the Alcatel‑Lucent Enterprise 8378 at locations that require DECT coverage and connect it to your IP or TDM network using standard Ethernet cabling with PoE support. Pair the device with ALE DECT handsets and register it with the Alcatel‑Lucent Communication Server to enable features such as dial‑by‑name and multi‑line management. Position units to provide overlapping coverage in roaming areas and verify radio performance after installation.

Recommendations

Place access points to ensure continuous handover across coverage zones, avoid mounting near large metal obstructions, and follow local regulations for DECT frequency use. Use PoE‑capable network switches rated to supply the specified 6.49 W per port.
