Cavo in fibra ottica S/CONN 77925 5m SC arancione

The ShiverPeaks Fibre Optic Cable S/CONN 77925 5m SC Orange is a 5-metre multimode OM2 patch lead with SC connectors on both ends and a 50 µm core diameter. It supports full duplex communication for bi-directional high-speed data transfer and is intended for use in networking environments where reliable optical connections are required. The cable's orange jacket indicates multimode specification and helps with identification in structured cabling systems.

Advantages

This fibre optic cable provides stable optical transmission with low attenuation typical for OM2 multimode fibers and full duplex operation. The SC connectors offer a push-pull coupling mechanism for secure, repeatable connections while minimizing insertion loss. The 5 m length balances flexibility with tidy cable management in racks and networking closets, and the bright orange jacket makes route tracing and maintenance easier.

Suitable for

• Connecting switches, servers and storage devices within data centers or server rooms
• Linking patch panels and network equipment in enterprise LANs
• Short- to medium-range multimode fiber links in campus or building backbone installations

Key specifications

• Fiber type: Multimode OM2
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: SC to SC (both ends)
• Length: 5 metres
• Duplex mode: Full duplex
• Jacket colour: Orange (multimode identification)

How to use

Route the cable between the two optical ports, ensuring connectors are clean before insertion to avoid contamination and signal loss. Align the SC connector until it clicks into place with the push-pull latch, then secure the cable along racks or trays to prevent strain on the terminations. For removal, depress the connector latch and pull straight out. Avoid tight bends and kinks; maintain the manufacturer's minimum bend radius to preserve fiber integrity.

Recommendations

Inspect and clean connector endfaces with appropriate fiber cleaning tools before installation, secure the cable to reduce mechanical stress, and store spare lengths coiled without sharp bends. Use this OM2 50 µm cable for short- to medium-distance multimode links and pair it with compatible SC ports and multimode transceivers to ensure expected performance.
