Switch D-Link DGS-1210-10P Managed L2 Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000) Power over Ethernet (PoE) 1U nero

Smart Managed with a Plus — the D-Link DGS-1210 Smart+ Managed Gigabit Switches deliver increased PoE output, advanced Layer 2 management features and Layer 3 static routing to extend business networks cost‑efficiently and flexibly. The series supports fibre uplinks for longer-distance connections and offers models with PoE and PoE+ budgets up to 370W to power VoIP phones, wireless access points and network cameras. Free D-Link network tools simplify initial setup and ongoing management, while energy-saving design and surveillance-specific features meet common business deployment needs.

Advantages

DGS-1210 Smart+ switches provide advanced Layer 2 management (VLANs, MSTP, LACP) plus Layer 3 static routing and dual software/configuration file support. Security features include IGMP snooping, access control lists, port security and the D-Link Safeguard Engine to mitigate denial-of-service flooding. Fibre uplinks enable interference‑free, long-distance connections. Models with high PoE budgets support larger device deployments. Free Network Assistant and D-View 7 tools simplify configuration and monitoring. Energy-saving hardware and fanless or smart-fan designs reduce power consumption.

How to use

Install the switch in a rack or on a flat surface according to the included hardware guide, connect power and networking cables, and use the Web-based UI or Compact CLI to perform initial configuration. Configure VLANs, link aggregation (LACP), MSTP and static routes as required for your network topology. For surveillance deployments, enable Surveillance Mode in the Web UI to automatically detect cameras and assign an Auto Surveillance VLAN to segregate video traffic. Use fibre uplinks for long-distance links and configure PoE settings to allocate power to connected devices within the available budget.

Recommendations

Use the free Network Assistant for initial discovery and D-View 7 for ongoing monitoring; verify PoE budget requirements before installing multiple powered devices and enable Surveillance Mode when deploying IP cameras to isolate and prioritise video traffic.
