Ubiquiti UniFi AirWire U-AIRWIRE bridge wireless 5 GHz 5800 Mbit/s Gigabit

The Ubiquiti UniFi AirWire (U-AIRWIRE) is a high-performance 5 GHz wireless bridge designed for point-to-point and point-to-multipoint connectivity. Delivering up to 5800 Mbit/s aggregate wireless throughput over a single 5 GHz radio link, the AirWire is engineered for businesses, ISPs, and enterprise networks requiring reliable, high-bandwidth wireless backhaul or last-mile connectivity without running physical cable.

Advantages

The UniFi AirWire integrates seamlessly into the Ubiquiti UniFi ecosystem, enabling centralised management alongside other UniFi network equipment through the UniFi Network Controller. Its gigabit Ethernet port ensures the wireless backhaul speed is not limited by the wired connection to the rest of the network. The compact outdoor-rated form factor allows flexible deployment in challenging environments, making it ideal for connecting buildings, campuses, or remote sites with high-speed wireless links.

Suitable for

• Enterprises needing high-capacity wireless backhaul between buildings or campuses
• ISPs requiring point-to-point wireless links for last-mile customer connectivity
• Network administrators looking to extend gigabit network access to locations where cabling is impractical

How to use

Install the AirWire at both ends of the wireless link, connecting each unit to your network via the Gigabit Ethernet port. Align both units for optimal line-of-sight signal, then adopt both devices into the UniFi Network Controller for configuration, monitoring, and management. Set the operating mode to wireless bridge, configure the network SSID, and the devices will establish the high-speed wireless backhaul link automatically.

Recommendations

For the best performance, ensure clear line-of-sight between the two AirWire units and use the UniFi Network Controller to monitor link quality and throughput in real time, adjusting antenna alignment as needed to maximise the 5800 Mbit/s link capacity.
