Waterblock + backplate Phanteks Glacier G40 acrilico rame grigio trasparente

The Phanteks Glacier G40 Acrylic Copper Grey Transparent is a combined water block and backplate engineered for liquid-cooled graphics cards. Constructed with an acrylic top and copper cold plate, the unit provides direct contact cooling across the GPU and associated components while offering a visually transparent, grey-tinted aesthetic. With external dimensions of 353.2 mm width, 190 mm depth and 70 mm height, this water block is designed to fit into a wide range of high-performance PC systems and custom loop configurations.

Advantages

The Glacier G40 integrates a high-conductivity copper cold plate with a precision-machined acrylic top for efficient heat transfer and clear visibility of coolant flow. Its combined water block and backplate design helps stabilize PCB temperatures and reduces hot spots across the graphics card. The physical dimensions and standardized mounting interface support compatibility with many modern GPU layouts while preserving a slim profile for improved radiator and tubing routing. The grey transparent finish provides a neutral visual match for different build themes without obscuring internal coolant colors.

Suitable for

• Custom liquid cooling loops for high-end graphics cards
• PC builds where aesthetic transparency and grey-tone styling are desired
• Overclocked GPU setups requiring improved thermal dissipation
• Systems with space for components sized approximately 353.2 × 190 × 70 mm

Key specifications

How to use

Install the Glacier G40 by following the manufacturer's mounting instructions for your specific graphics card model, ensuring the GPU is powered down and removed from the system beforehand. Prepare the graphics card by cleaning the GPU die and adjacent components, then apply appropriate thermal interface material to the GPU die according to best practices. Position the water block over the PCB so the copper cold plate makes full contact with the thermal compound, secure the mounting hardware evenly to avoid uneven pressure, and attach tubing to the inlet and outlet ports before integrating the block into your liquid cooling loop. After installation, leak-test the loop externally and run the system at idle to verify proper coolant flow and temperature stabilization before full operation.

Recommendations

Use corrosion-inhibiting, compatible coolant and maintain regular loop maintenance to preserve thermal performance and material integrity. Confirm mechanical compatibility with your specific graphics card model and case clearances prior to purchase and keep mounting screws torqued evenly to prevent damage to the PCB or block.
