AOC SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q1M cavo ottico attivo 1 m, CBO

AOC SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q1M optical active cable 1 m, CBO is a fixed-length optical active cable designed for SFP28 ports and 25 Gb/s short-reach links. Manufactured by BlueOptics for use in high-density rack and data centre environments, this 1-metre cable provides a low-latency fibre connection between compatible servers, switches and storage devices. The product is intended for point-to-point interconnects where a reliable, maintenance-free optical link with minimal footprint is required.

Advantages

The optical active cable delivers the bandwidth and signal integrity required for 25 Gb/s SFP28 interfaces while eliminating the need for separate transceivers and patch cords. Its fixed 1 m length reduces cable management complexity and helps maintain consistent optical performance. Designed for short-range links, the cable offers low insertion loss, stable data transfer characteristics and immunity to electromagnetic interference compared with copper alternatives.

Suitable for

• Server-to-switch and switch-to-switch connections in rack-mounted installations
• High-density top-of-rack and end-of-row data centre interconnects
• Direct connections between storage arrays and host adapters requiring 25 Gb/s throughput
• Environments where compact, fixed-length optical cabling reduces clutter and improves airflow

Key specifications

• Interface type: SFP28 optical active cable for 25 Gb/s links
• Length: 1 metre fixed
• Transmission speed: 25 Gigabit per second
• Connector type: SFP28 plug on both ends compatible with standard SFP28 ports
• Reach: short-range multimode fibre operation suitable for data centre racks
• Signal characteristics: low insertion loss and low latency for high-speed interconnects
• Construction: factory-terminated, single-piece AOC with integrated optics

How to use

Install the cable by inserting each SFP28 connector into the corresponding SFP28 port on the network devices until the connector latches. Ensure devices are powered off or follow hot-swap guidelines provided by the equipment vendor when inserting or removing modules. Verify link status through the device management interface and confirm the negotiated 25 Gb/s link speed. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and maintain the manufacturer’s recommended bend radius to preserve optical performance.

Recommendations

Use this AOC for short, fixed-length connections inside racks or between adjacent racks. Avoid exposing the cable to excessive pulling force, extreme temperatures, or direct mechanical stress. For mixed vendor environments, confirm SFP28 compatibility and firmware support before deployment to ensure full interoperability.
