AOC SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q3M cavo ottico attivo, lunghezza 3 m

The AOC SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q3M active optical cable, 3 m length, is designed for 25 GbE short-range interconnects between devices with SFP28 ports. This pre-terminated active optical cable integrates transceiver electronics and a fibre optic link in a single assembly to deliver high-speed data transmission with low latency and immunity to electromagnetic interference. The 3 m cable length suits rack-to-rack and intra-rack connections in data centre, server and switch environments where reliable, compact connectivity is required.

Advantages

This active optical cable reduces signal loss over short distances compared with copper alternatives and eliminates the need for separate transceivers and patch cords. Its integrated design simplifies cable management and reduces port density constraints, while the optical medium provides better resistance to EMI and improves thermal performance. The AOC supports high bandwidth for 25 GbE links and is factory-tested to ensure compliance with the expected electrical and optical parameters.

Suitable for

• 25 Gigabit Ethernet links between switches and servers
• High-density rack-to-rack or intra-rack connectivity in data centres
• Low-latency connections for storage and compute clusters
• Environments sensitive to electromagnetic interference

Key specifications

• Form factor: SFP28 active optical cable assembly
• Nominal length: 3 meters
• Supported data rate: 25 Gbps per lane (SFP28 standard)
• Connector type: SFP28 duplex optical interfaces
• Medium: optical fibre with integrated transceiver electronics
• Typical use: short-reach multimode/active optical connectivity

How to use

Insert each SFP28 connector into compatible SFP28 ports on the two network devices until the latch engages. Ensure device firmware and interfaces support 25 Gigabit Ethernet over AOC links. Verify link status through device LEDs or management interfaces and monitor for correct speed negotiation. Avoid sharp bends or excessive pulling on the cable and keep connectors free of dust before insertion. For hot-pluggable operation, follow the host device's safety and handling instructions when inserting or removing the cable.

Recommendations

For reliable performance, use the cable within the recommended 3 m distance and route it to avoid tight bends; maintain proper airflow in racks and protect exposed connectors with dust caps when not in use. Confirm compatibility with the SFP28 port vendor and update device firmware if required to ensure full interoperability.
