AOC SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q7M cavo ottico attivo 7M, marca CBO, 25Gbps, 7 m

AOC SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q7M 7M active optical cable by CBO is a pre-terminated SFP28 module designed for short-reach high-speed links. At 7 meters it carries 25Gbps per lane over a single SFP28 connection, providing low-latency, low-power connectivity for switches, servers and storage systems. The compact SFP28 form factor simplifies installation in dense rack and data center environments while eliminating the need for separate transceivers and fibre patch leads.

Advantages

This active optical cable integrates transceiver and fiber into a single pre-terminated assembly, reducing insertion complexity and ensuring consistent signal performance. It supports 25Gbps links with reduced electromagnetic interference compared to copper alternatives and typically consumes less power than discrete transceiver plus cable combinations. The 7 m length offers flexibility for rack-to-rack and within-rack connections while preserving signal integrity and minimizing latency.

Suitable for

• 25Gbps SFP28 uplinks between switches and aggregation devices
• High-speed server-to-switch connections in data center racks
• Storage area network interconnects requiring short-reach optical links
• Environments where low-latency, low-power interconnects are needed

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 form factor, hot-pluggable
• Data rate: 25 Gbps per link
• Cable type: active optical cable (AOC)
• Length: 7 meters
• Typical use: short-reach interconnects in racks and adjacent racks
• Latency characteristics: low-latency optical transmission
• Power profile: lower power consumption compared to separate transceiver plus copper cabling

How to use

Install the AOC by inserting each SFP28 connector into the appropriate SFP28 ports on the two devices until the latches engage. Ensure devices are powered down or follow hot-plug safety procedures recommended by the equipment vendor. Confirm link status via the device management interface and verify correct speed and link integrity. Use this cable for standard 25GbE or supported protocols as listed in switch and server documentation; no separate fiber patching or transceiver configuration is required in most deployments.

Recommendations

Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and mechanical strain; maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius. Use within typical data center temperature ranges and avoid exposure to liquids or excessive dust. Verify compatibility with switch and server SFP28 ports and consult equipment vendor compatibility lists if vendor locking is a possibility.
