AOC CBO SFP-25G-D-AOC-20M cavo ottico attivo 25G 20 m

Active optical cable AOC SFP-25G-D-AOC-20M is a factory-terminated 25 Gigabit fibre link with SFP connectors and a 20-meter length. Manufactured for short to mid-range high-speed interconnects, this cable integrates optical transceivers inside the cable assemblies to deliver 25G connectivity without separate modules. It is intended for server-to-switch, switch-to-switch or storage interconnects in data centres and enterprise networks where low latency, reduced rack space and simplified installation are required.

Advantages

The cable provides a single-cable solution that eliminates the need for separate transceivers, reducing component count and simplifying spare-part management. Being an active optical cable, it offers lower power consumption and thermal load compared with some pluggable transceivers plus copper cabling at equivalent reach. The 20 m length supports flexible rack placement and inter-rack connections while maintaining 25 Gbit/s line rate and low latency suitable for high-throughput applications. The factory-terminated design ensures consistent optical performance and reduces installation time.

Suitable for

• Server-to-top-of-rack or server-to-leaf switch connections
• Switch-to-switch uplinks inside data centre racks
• Storage array interconnects requiring 25G bandwidth
• High-density environments where space and airflow are constrained

Key specifications

• Nominal data rate: 25 Gigabit per second
• Connector type: SFP-style optical connectors on both ends
• Length: 20 metres (factory-terminated)
• Media type: active optical cable with integrated optics
• Typical use: data centre and enterprise network interconnects
• Latency: low, suitable for server and storage traffic

How to use

Install the AOC by inserting the SFP connectors into SFP-capable ports on networking equipment that support 25G optics. Verify that devices accept AOC-type SFP modules and that firmware or vendor settings allow active optical connections. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and mechanical stress, and secure it with standard cable management to maintain airflow and serviceability. No separate transceivers or patch panels are required; the cable is ready for immediate use when both ends are properly seated.

Recommendations

Confirm compatibility with your switch or server vendor for SFP-based 25G AOC support and any required port settings. Avoid tight bends below the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius and protect connector ends from dust when not connected. For reliable operation in high-density racks, combine proper cable management with equipment cooling best practices.
