Cavo ottico attivo CBO SFP28-AOC-3M lunghezza 3 m per porte SFP28 (CBO)

Active Optical Cable CBO SFP28-AOC-3M is a 3-metre AOC designed for SFP28 ports, providing a factory-terminated optical connection for compatible networking equipment. The cable supports high-speed links between servers, switches and other SFP28-capable devices while reducing electromagnetic interference and simplifying rack cabling. Its compact, low-power SFP28 form factor delivers reliable short-to-medium range connectivity suitable for data centre top-of-rack and server-to-switch interconnects.

Advantages

The Active Optical Cable offers low latency and predictable signal integrity by using optical transmission over a 3 m length, eliminating issues related to copper crosstalk. Its plug-and-play SFP28 connectors require no separate transceivers, which reduces installation complexity and saves rack space. The AOC design lowers power consumption compared with some active copper alternatives and provides immunity to electromagnetic interference, improving link stability in dense equipment environments.

Suitable for

• Data centre server-to-switch connections
• Top-of-rack (ToR) switching interconnects
• High-performance computing clusters
• Short-reach, high-bandwidth network links in racks

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 plug-and-play optical connectors
• Length: 3 metres
• Transmission medium: multimode optical fibre within AOC assembly
• Data rate support: designed for 25 Gbps SFP28 links
• Form factor: low-profile SFP28 housing compatible with standard SFP28 ports
• EMI performance: immune to electromagnetic interference typical for optical links
• Power: low-power AOC module design suitable for dense installations

How to use

Insert each SFP28 connector into the corresponding SFP28 port on the two network devices until the connector latches. Ensure that both devices support SFP28 AOC modules and are powered down or hot-swap capable according to the equipment manufacturer’s guidance before insertion or removal. After physical connection, verify link status in the device management interface and configure port settings (speed, duplex and auto-negotiation) as required by your network design.

Recommendations

Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius. Use appropriate cable management within racks to prevent strain on the connectors. Verify compatibility with the switch or server vendor’s supported transceiver and AOC list to ensure full interoperability and optimal performance.
