AOC CBO SFP-AOC-10G-2M cavo ottico attivo 10G SFP+ 2 m

The AOC CBO SFP-AOC-10G-2M 10G Active Optical Cable SFP+ 2 m is a factory-terminated, 2‑metre SFP+ direct-attach solution for 10 Gbps links. It is designed to connect switches, servers and storage within racks or between adjacent racks, offering a low-power, compact alternative to separate transceiver and fiber assemblies. The cable supports short‑reach high‑speed connections while reducing cable complexity and physical footprint in data centre and network aggregation environments.

Advantages

This Active Optical Cable provides native SFP+ connectivity with integrated optics, eliminating the need for separate transceivers and duplex fiber patch cords. The 2 m length is suitable for common rack and top-of-rack setups and helps to minimize cable clutter. Built for low latency and reduced power consumption compared with copper direct‑attach assemblies at equivalent link speeds, the cable simplifies installation and improves airflow in dense equipment racks.

Suitable for

• 10 Gbps links between switches in the same rack or adjacent racks
• Server to switch connections in data centre top-of-rack configurations
• High-speed storage network connections and SAN aggregation
• Short-reach links where reduced power consumption and compact cabling are priorities

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP+ (integrated active optical modules)
• Data rate: 10 Gbps
• Length: 2 metres
• Cable type: Active Optical Cable (AOC) with factory-terminated connectors
• Reach category: Short-reach interconnect for intra-rack and adjacent-rack connections
• Power and latency: Lower power consumption and latency compared with equivalent copper DACs

How to use

Insert each SFP+ connector into the corresponding SFP+ ports on the networking devices until the connector latches. Ensure that both ends are fully seated and that ports are powered and configured for 10 Gbps operation. No separate transceivers or fibre patch cords are required. Monitor link LEDs or device management interfaces to confirm operational status and negotiate link parameters as needed.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use the AOC within rack and adjacent‑rack distances (up to 2 m) and avoid tight bends or kinks in the cable. Verify that the networking equipment supports SFP+ AOC modules and 10 Gbps links, and follow standard electrostatic discharge (ESD) handling procedures when inserting or removing connectors.
