Cavo AOC CBO SFP28-AOC-50M-UQ-BO — cavo ottico attivo da 50 m per porte SFP28

The CBO AOC Cable SFP28-AOC-50M-UQ-BO is a 50 m active optical cable designed for use with SFP28 ports to deliver 25 Gbps connectivity between compatible network devices. This fiber-based direct-attach cable integrates optical transceiver functions into the cable assembly to provide a compact, plug-and-play solution for short-reach high-speed links in data centers and server rooms. It reduces the need for separate transceivers and patch cords while offering improved signal integrity compared with copper alternatives.

Advantages

This active optical cable supports 25 Gbps data rates over a 50 metre distance while maintaining low latency and low insertion loss. The integrated optical components minimize electromagnetic interference and heat generation typical of copper links, and the single-cable form factor simplifies cable management and reduces the number of components required for connection. The cable is suitable for high-density deployments where space and airflow are important considerations.

Suitable for

• Data center switch-to-switch interconnects
• Server-to-switch connections inside racks or across short aisles
• High-speed short-reach links where copper is impractical or limited by distance
• Environments requiring reduced electromagnetic interference and improved signal integrity

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 form factor
• Data rate: 25 Gbps per lane
• Length: 50 metres
• Cable type: Active optical direct-attach cable
• Transmission medium: multimode/mode-specified optical fibre (integrated)
• Typical use: short-reach data centre links and server interconnects

How to use

Install the cable by inserting each SFP28 connector into the corresponding SFP28 port on the network devices until the latch engages. Ensure both ends are compatible with 25 Gbps SFP28 ports and that devices are powered off or follow hot-plugging recommendations for your hardware. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and maintain minimum bend radius specified by the manufacturer. Verify link status using the network equipment LEDs or management interface and confirm link speed and diagnostics in the switch or server OS.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, avoid bending the cable beyond the recommended minimum bend radius, protect connector ends from dust when not in use, and use appropriate airflow-aware routing in high-density racks. Confirm firmware and hardware compatibility with SFP28 25 Gbps interfaces on both ends and follow your equipment vendor’s hot-swap and handling procedures.
