Cavo ottico attivo (AOC) CBO SFP28-AOC-5M-MT-BO — 5 m, SFP28

5-meter Active Optical Cable (AOC) BlueOptics SFP28-AOC-5M-MT-BO with SFP28 connectors provides a direct optical link for high-speed server and switch interconnects. The cable integrates optical transceivers into a single assembly, eliminating the need for separate modules and supporting low-latency data transmission in rack-to-rack and intra-rack environments. Its compact SFP28 form factor and 5 m length simplify cabling in data centers where signal integrity and electrical isolation are required.

Advantages

The AOC offers electrical isolation and immunity to electromagnetic interference while maintaining the performance of optical connections. Integrated SFP28 connectors reduce component count and installation time compared with discrete transceivers plus patch cords. The cable supports low latency and stable high-speed links suitable for modern 25GbE network fabrics, with a lightweight, flexible design that eases routing inside racks and cable trays.

Suitable for

• High-speed server-to-switch and switch-to-switch links in data centers
• Rack-to-rack interconnects requiring a 5 m optical reach
• Environments needing electrical isolation and reduced EMI sensitivity
• Installations where compact SFP28 direct-attach cabling simplifies management

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 on both ends
• Length: 5 meters
• Transmission medium: integrated multimode optical cable assembly
• Supported data rate: 25 Gbps per lane (SFP28 standard compatibility)
• Latency: optimized for low-latency interconnects
• Design: flexible, lightweight cable jacket for rack routing

How to use

Install the AOC by inserting each SFP28 connector into compatible SFP28 ports on switches, servers, or network adapters until the latch engages. No external modules or patch cords are required. Ensure both devices support AOC connections and operate at compatible link speeds. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and mechanical strain; secure with cable management to maintain bend radius and prevent connector stress. The link should come up automatically once both ends are seated and devices are configured for the target interface.

Recommendations

Verify compatibility with the target hardware and firmware prior to deployment. Maintain recommended bend radius and avoid excessive pulling force during installation. Use appropriate electrostatic discharge precautions when handling SFP28 connectors and avoid contaminating optical interfaces—clean contacts only with suitable cleaning tools when necessary.
