BlueOptics CBL-QSFP+AOC-50M-BO cavo in fibra ottica InfiniBand 50m maschio/maschio

The BlueOptics CBL-QSFP+AOC-50M-BO InfiniBand/fibre optic cable 50m Male/Male is a 50-metre active optical cable (AOC) with QSFP-to-QSFP male connectors designed for high-speed links in data centres and high-performance computing environments. It uses multimode fibre with integrated transmitter and receiver modules at each end and follows common QSFP/MSA physical interfaces to support standard 40GBASE-SR4 and compatible InfiniBand or Ethernet applications over a 50 m length.

Advantages

This BlueOptics active optical cable provides consistent 40 Gbps-class throughput across a 50 m reach while avoiding the need for separate transceivers and patch cords. Its integrated optical transceivers reduce connector count and simplify installation in dense rack environments. The AOC design delivers electrical isolation and low latency for switch-to-switch, switch-to-server or server-to-storage interconnects where a compact, factory-terminated multimode fibre solution is preferred.

How to use

Ensure both devices to be connected provide QSFP ports that support QSFP AOC modules and that firmware or vendor compatibility requirements are met. With equipment powered down or in maintenance mode as recommended by the device vendor, insert each QSFP male connector into the corresponding QSFP socket until it clicks or seats securely. Route the cable to avoid tight bends and mechanical strain, observing the manufacturer's minimum bend radius for multimode fibre. Power on the devices and verify link status through the network equipment management interface or port LEDs to confirm the 40 Gbps link is established.

Recommendations

Use the cable in channels and rack layouts that avoid excessive bending or compression, keep multimode patching distances within design limits, and verify device compatibility for QSFP AOC modules. For best performance, maintain clean connector interfaces and follow equipment vendor guidance on supported AOC modules and firmware versions.
