BlueOptics SFP8181BU5MK Cavo in fibra ottica InfiniBand 5m LC giallo

The BlueOptics SFP8181BU5MK InfiniBand Fibre Optic Cable 5m LC Yellow is a pre-terminated single‑mode fibre patch cable designed for high-speed InfiniBand networks and data centre interconnects. The cable uses G.657.A1‑type fibre with a 125 µm core diameter and LC connectors on both ends. At 5 metres length and with a bright yellow jacket for easy identification, this cable is intended for reliable short‑reach links between switches, adapters and active equipment where low loss and consistent signal integrity are required.

Advantages

The G.657.A1 fibre construction provides improved bend resistance compared with standard single‑mode fibres, reducing signal loss in constrained routing paths. LC connectors offer a compact interface compatible with many InfiniBand and optical transceiver modules. A 5 m length balances flexibility and minimal insertion loss for rack‑to‑rack or within‑rack connections, while the yellow outer jacket improves visibility during installation and maintenance.

How to use

Ensure both ends of the cable and the corresponding LC ports on equipment are clean and free from dust before connecting. Align the LC connectors with the device ports and push until the latch engages to establish a secure connection. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and mechanical stress; the G.657.A1 fibre tolerates tighter bends but standard good practice for bend radius should still be observed. When disconnecting, depress the LC latch and pull the connector straight out to avoid damaging the ferrule or port.

Recommendations

Use dust caps when connectors are not in use, label both ends for easy identification, and follow equipment manufacturer guidelines for mating cycles and port handling. For high‑density installations, plan cable routing to minimise bend and strain and periodically inspect connectors for contamination that can affect signal quality.
