Brother ScanEssentials

Our ScanEssentials software provides you with additional features which you can tailor to your business. For added security, you can set up passwords and protect your workflows, with the option to save your documents in a variety of formats. The metadata function can also read barcodes or specific strings of text to easily facilitate the separation and file naming of documents.

Fast and reliable

With an in-built ultrasonic multifeed to eliminate misfeeds, the ADS-4900W has the largest sheet ADF capacity (100 sheets) and is the fastest in the range, scanning up to 60 pages per minute, or one every second. The separation switch enables very thick and thin documents, plastic cards and crumpled paper to smoothly feed through with ease.

Advanced image capture and processing

Effortless and impressive image capture and processing - from easily referencing and locating scanned pages with the digital imprinter, to optimising image quality through the automatic vertical streaks and moiré reduction tools. The document separation functionality also automatically detects and removes any scanned blank pages, thus reducing file sizes and document preparation time.

Advanced connectivity

With 5GHz wireless connectivity, network, USB3.0 and USB host, you can securely scan documents and share with colleagues.

Simple and intuitive

Set up a dedicated user interface with one-touch scanning and the ability to add up to 56 shortcuts to frequently used destinations. You can also use an optional external cardreader to make the scanning process even easier. Just tap the card and add your documents into the ADF to automatically and securely capture the information on the page.

Industry recognised software

Increase post-scanning productivity with industry recognised software including Kofax and Newsoft, available as standard with device.

How to use

Place documents face up in the automatic document feeder, align edges and adjust guides to match paper width. Use the touch panel or buttons to select the desired scan profile and destination (e-mail server, FTP, HTTP, PC or SMB). For best results choose the appropriate resolution and duplex settings; the scanner will process batches automatically through the 100-sheet ADF. Consult the driver options (ISIS or SANE) on your computer for advanced settings and format choices.

Recommendations

For consistent results, separate stapled or folded documents and ensure pages are free of excessive dust or debris before feeding. Select media weight settings when scanning thick or plastic cards, and use supported drivers for integration with document management systems.
