How to use

Connect the charger to the battery following the manufacturer’s connector or clamp instructions and ensure the correct polarity before switching the unit on. The charger will detect the battery state and automatically run the four‑step charging program. Monitor the indicator lights (or display where applicable) to follow progress through desulfation, bulk, absorption and maintenance phases. Once the charger enters maintenance mode it can be left connected for prolonged periods to preserve battery condition. Disconnect the charger after switching it off and following safe disconnection procedure.

Recommendations

Use the CTEK Multi XT 4.0 for regular maintenance charging at intervals recommended by the vehicle or battery manufacturer, especially during long storage periods or infrequent use. Avoid charging damaged or frozen batteries and ensure proper ventilation when charging. For best results, clean battery terminals and inspect cables before connection, and follow safety guidance provided with your vehicle and battery.
