Cavo in fibra InfiniBand BlueOptics QSFP-H40G-AOC3M-AL-BO 3 m connettore/connettore

The BlueOptics QSFP-H40G-AOC3M-AL-BO is a 3 m Active Optical Cable (AOC) with QSFP-to-QSFP male connectors, designed for high-speed InfiniBand and fibre optic data transmission. Built to MSA-compatible QSFP form factors, this cable integrates optical transmitters and receivers in each connector to carry multimode optical signals and supports 40GBASE-SR4 links. It is intended for short-reach, high-bandwidth connections within racks and between adjacent racks in data centres and high-performance computing environments.

Advantages

The cable provides a compact, low-latency connection with integrated optics that remove the need for separate transceivers and patch cords, simplifying installation and reducing component count. Compliance with QSFP and 40GBASE-SR4 signalling ensures interoperability with hardware platforms that accept MSA-compatible QSFP AOCs. Its fixed 3 m length offers predictable, loss-minimized performance for short-reach links while supporting multimode fibre transmission for consistent 40 Gbit/s throughput.

Suitable for

• High-density rack-to-rack connections in data centres
• Interconnects between switches, routers and storage systems supporting QSFP 40G links
• High-performance computing clusters and InfiniBand fabrics requiring short-reach 40G links
• Upgrades or replacements where an Alcatel-Lucent QSFP-H40G-AOC3M-AL compatible AOC is required

Key specifications

• Cable type: Active Optical Cable (AOC) with integrated transceivers
• Connector type: QSFP male to QSFP male
• Supported data rate: up to 40 Gbit/s (40GBASE-SR4 signalling)
• Length: 3 metres
• Optical medium: multimode fibre
• Application scope: short-reach, rack-to-rack and intra-rack links

How to use

Install the BlueOptics QSFP-H40G-AOC3M-AL-BO by inserting each QSFP male connector into the QSFP port on the respective devices until the latch engages. Ensure both endpoints are powered and configured to accept 40G QSFP links and that firmware or platform settings allow the use of MSA-compatible AOCs. No separate transceivers or patch cords are required; the cable functions as a single plug-and-play link for supported ports. Verify link status and speed via the device management interface after installation.

Recommendations

Use this 3 m AOC for short-reach connections inside racks or between adjacent racks where 40G bandwidth is needed. Avoid tight bends and mechanical strain on the cable and maintain minimum bend radius as specified for multimode optical cables. Confirm device compatibility with MSA-compatible QSFP AOCs and, if required, validate operation with a test sample before large-scale deployment.
