Cavo in fibra ottica BlueOptics CAB-SMF-SC-SC-5-BO InfiniBand 5 m SC SC

The BlueOptics CAB-SMF-SC-SC-5-BO InfiniBand fibre optic cable 5 m SC SC is a single-mode patch cable designed for high-speed data transmission in networking and data centre environments. Built with G.657.A1 fibre, this 5 metre cable is intended for short- to medium-range connections where low attenuation and reliable signal integrity are required. The cable is terminated with SC connectors on both ends to provide secure, push-pull style connections compatible with a wide range of networking equipment that supports InfiniBand links.

Advantages

This BlueOptics fibre cable offers low signal loss and stable transmission characteristics thanks to the G.657.A1 single-mode fibre construction. The SC–SC termination provides a standardized interface for easy installation and secure mating in rack-mounted panels, switches and transceivers. The 5 m length balances reach and manageability for typical cabling runs inside racks or between adjacent racks, and the cable’s construction supports consistent performance for InfiniBand networks.

Suitable for

• Interconnecting InfiniBand switches and host adapters within data centres
• Patch panel to equipment connections in server rooms
• High-speed point-to-point links requiring single-mode fibre
• Upgrading or replacing existing SC-terminated fibre links

Key specifications

• Fibre type: G.657.A1 single-mode optical fibre
• Connector type: SC to SC duplex-style termination
• Length: 5 metres
• Application: InfiniBand and single-mode optical networks
• Cable usage: Indoor patching and rack connections

How to use

Route the cable along cable management paths in the rack or conduit and avoid sharp bends that exceed the fibre’s minimum bend radius. Align and insert each SC connector into the corresponding SC port until it clicks into place to ensure a secure connection. For best results, keep connector end faces clean and use a fibre inspection tool or cleaning kit before mating to minimise insertion loss and reflections. If used with duplex ports, ensure correct polarity by matching transmit and receive pairs.

Recommendations

Store spare cables coiled without tight loops and protect connector end faces with dust caps when not in use. For critical links, verify signal levels after installation and follow vendor guidelines for bend radius and environmental conditions to maintain long-term performance.
