Cavo in fibra ottica EFB Elektronik O2003.5 5 m ST giallo

The EFB Elektronik O2003.5 5 m ST Yellow is a single-mode OS2 fibre optic cable designed for high-speed, full-duplex data transmission. With a 9 µm core diameter and ST connectors at both ends, this 5 metre patch cable is intended for reliable point-to-point links in networking, data centre and InfiniBand environments. Its yellow jacket provides easy visual identification for single-mode infrastructure and the construction is optimised to minimise attenuation and preserve signal integrity over the specified distance.

Advantages

This fibre optic cable supports full-duplex communication and is built to deliver low insertion loss and consistent optical performance across single-mode systems. The ST connector style enables straightforward push-and-twist mating for many existing fibre ports. Its 5 m length balances reach and manageability for rack-to-rack or equipment-to-equipment connections, while the yellow outer jacket aids cable identification and traceability in complex installations.

Suitable for

• InfiniBand interconnects and high-performance computing links
• Data centre patching between switches, transceivers and equipment
• Single-mode fibre runs in enterprise and campus networks
• Point-to-point optical links requiring OS2 fibre characteristics

Key specifications

• Fibre type: single-mode (OS2)
• Core diameter: 9 µm
• Connector type: ST to ST
• Length: 5 metres
• Mode: full duplex
• Jacket colour: yellow

How to use

Inspect connectors for dust or damage before installation and clean with appropriate fibre cleaning tools if necessary. Align and insert the ST connectors into compatible ST ports, engaging the bayonet-style coupling until secure. Route the cable to avoid tight bends, kinks, or compression; maintain the manufacturer’s recommended minimum bend radius for single-mode fibre. Test the link with suitable optical test equipment after connection to verify attenuation and continuity.

Recommendations

Store and handle the cable in a clean, dry environment to prevent contamination of endfaces. For best performance, avoid exceeding the cable's specified bend radius and protect connectors with dust caps when not connected. Use appropriate cable management in racks and trays to prevent strain and maintain predictable optical performance.
