Cavo in fibra ottica InfiniBand BlueOptics CBL-SFF8644-8088-50M-BL 5 m 4x Mini-SAS 4x Mini-SAS HD

The BlueOptics CBL-SFF8644-8088-50M-BL is a 5 m InfiniBand / Mini-SAS hybrid fibre optic cable with 4x Mini-SAS HD (SFF-8644) to 4x Mini-SAS (SFF-8088) connectors. It is intended for high-speed data links in rack environments and short-distance connections between adjacent racks or storage enclosures. The cable supports high-density SAS connections and is suitable for connecting SAS controllers, backplanes and storage devices where compact connectors and reliable data throughput are required.

Advantages

This Mini-SAS hybrid cable offers a compact connector design that reduces rack space requirements while enabling multi-lane data transmission. It is fully compliant with MSA-defined mechanical and electrical interfaces, ensuring compatibility with devices that follow the same standards. The passive design avoids active components in the cable itself, which contributes to low power consumption and a reduced failure rate. The cable is produced using components from established manufacturers to ensure durability and consistent performance in data centre and high-performance computing environments.

Suitable for

• Connecting SAS storage enclosures to controllers and expanders in rack systems
• Short-distance links between adjacent racks or within the same cabinet
• High-density server and storage configurations requiring Mini-SAS HD to Mini-SAS connections
• Environments that require standards-compliant interconnects for interoperability

Key specifications

• Cable length: 5 metres
• Connector configuration: 4x Mini-SAS HD (SFF-8644) to 4x Mini-SAS (SFF-8088)
• Number of lanes: 4x (x4 lanes per connector)
• Transmission protocol: SAS (supports common SAS data rates, including 3Gb/s and 6Gb/s)
• Design: passive twinax / hybrid cable suitable for short-range, high-speed links
• Connector orientation: male external Mini-SAS and Mini-SAS HD plugs

How to use

Install the cable by aligning each connector with the corresponding Mini-SAS HD (SFF-8644) or Mini-SAS (SFF-8088) port on your storage controller, backplane or device and push until the connector seats securely. Ensure both ends are compatible with the device ports and that connectors are free from debris before mating. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and mechanical stress; maintain recommended bend radius and secure the cable with appropriate ties or guides to prevent strain on the connectors.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use this cable for short-range interconnects inside racks or between adjacent racks, verify device support for the intended SAS data rate, and avoid environments with excessive vibration or temperature extremes. Inspect connectors periodically for wear and replace the cable if connectors show physical damage.
