Cavo in fibra ottica InfiniBand ShiverPeaks 77902/4 2 m ST viola

The ShiverPeaks InfiniBand fibre optic cable 77902/4 is a 2 m multimode OM4 link with ST connectors on both ends, designed for high-speed full-duplex data transmission. With a 50 µm core diameter and violet jacket, this cable provides reliable optical connectivity for short- to medium-range links where low loss and high bandwidth are required. The ST terminations ensure simple push-and-twist coupling to compatible sockets, and the OM4 fibre supports elevated modal bandwidth for demanding networking environments such as server rooms and switch-to-switch connections.

Advantages

The OM4 multimode construction delivers higher bandwidth and longer reach compared with lower-grade multimode fibres, enabling effective transmission of high-speed InfiniBand signals. ST connectors offer robust mechanical coupling and are widely supported in networking equipment that accepts bayonet-style terminations. The 2 m length minimizes excess slack in rack and cabinet installations while the violet color simplifies cable identification and management within dense cabling plants.

Suitable for

• Short- to medium-range InfiniBand links in data centres and cluster interconnects
• Interconnects between switches, transceivers and storage arrays that accept ST connectors
• Environments requiring high modal bandwidth for low-latency, high-throughput applications
• Cable runs where colour-coded identification improves management and troubleshooting

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM4 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: ST – both ends
• Cable length: 2 m
• Jacket colour: violet
• Communication mode: full duplex

How to use

Before installation, inspect connectors for dust or debris and, if necessary, clean with appropriate fibre-cleaning tools. Insert each ST connector into the matching ST receptacle and secure with the bayonet twist until it locks. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and mechanical strain; maintain the manufacturer’s recommended minimum bend radius for multimode fibre. For best performance, avoid kinks and protect the cable from excessive compression or heat sources.

Recommendations

Use this OM4 ST fibre cable for short interconnects in racks and patch panels where elevated bandwidth and straightforward bayonet-style connections are required. Pair with compatible transceivers and maintain clean connectors to ensure optimal signal integrity.
