Cavo in fibra ottica InfiniBand ShiverPeaks 77910/4 3 m

The ShiverPeaks Fibre optic cable InfiniBand ShiverPeaks 77910/4 3 m is a 3-metre OM4 multimode fibre designed for InfiniBand networks and high-performance data transmission. It features SC and ST connectors and a 50 µm core diameter, providing full-duplex communication and low-loss signal transfer suitable for short- to medium-range links in data centers and cluster environments. The cable is intended for applications requiring high throughput, low latency and reliable connectivity between servers, switches and storage arrays.

Advantages

This OM4 multimode fibre cable supports high bandwidth and higher modal dispersion tolerance compared with lower-grade multimode fibres, enabling stable transmission at higher data rates. The combination of SC and ST connectors offers compatibility with a wide range of networking equipment. Full-duplex operation ensures simultaneous bidirectional data flow, reducing communication delays in clustered systems. The 3 m length provides flexible placement without excessive slack in rack and cabinet installations.

Suitable for

• InfiniBand interconnects in high-performance computing (HPC) clusters
• Short- to medium-range links in data center racks and server rooms
• Connections between switches, routers and storage arrays requiring multimode OM4 performance
• Testing and lab environments where SC and ST connector compatibility is needed

Key specifications

• Optical fiber type: OM4 multimode
• Length: 3 metres
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector types: SC on one end, ST on the other
• Transmission mode: Full duplex

How to use

Inspect connector endfaces for cleanliness before installation and clean with appropriate fibre cleaning tools if necessary. Route the cable along existing cable management paths, avoiding sharp bends and excessive tensile stress; maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius for multimode fibre. Insert the SC and ST connectors into the corresponding ports until they seat securely, then verify link status on connected devices. Use appropriate strain relief and secure the cable within racks to prevent movement and connector stress during operation.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use the cable within typical OM4 distance limits for the data rate in use, keep endfaces clean, and follow data center cabling best practices such as proper labeling, separation from electrical cables, and controlled bend radii. Regularly inspect connectors and test links after installation to confirm expected throughput and low error rates.
