Cavo in fibra ottica InfiniBand ShiverPeaks 77928/4 20m

This 20 m OM4 fibre optic cable from ShiverPeaks is designed for high-speed InfiniBand connections. It has LC connectors on both ends and a 50 µm core diameter, supporting full duplex data transmission over multimode fibre. The cable is intended for environments that require low-latency, high-throughput links such as data centers and high-performance computing clusters.

Advantages

The OM4 multimode construction provides improved bandwidth and extended reach compared with lower-grade multimode fibres, enabling reliable transmission for short to medium distances typical in server rooms. LC-to-LC connectors offer a compact form factor and stable mating performance for dense patching panels. Full duplex capability ensures simultaneous bidirectional communication, which is essential for InfiniBand fabrics and low-latency interconnects.

Suitable for

• InfiniBand network links between switches and servers
• High-performance computing (HPC) clusters and GPU interconnects
• Data center rack-to-rack or intra-rack fiber runs
• Storage area networks (SANs) requiring low-latency links

Key specifications

• Length: 20 m
• Fibre type: OM4 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: LC to LC
• Transmission mode: Full duplex
• Application: InfiniBand and high-speed multimode links

How to use

Unpack the cable and inspect connectors for dust or damage before installation. Clean LC connector endfaces with an appropriate fiber cleaning tool if necessary. Route the cable through fiber management trays or cable guides to avoid tight bends and maintain minimum bend radius. Plug each LC connector into the corresponding LC port on switches, servers, or transceivers, ensuring secure engagement. Verify link status and performance using network diagnostics or InfiniBand management tools.

Recommendations

Maintain proper handling by avoiding sharp bends, excessive pulling force, and exposure to contaminants. Use dust caps when connectors are not mated and follow your data center’s fibre management practices to preserve signal integrity and achieve consistent InfiniBand performance.
