Cavo in fibra ottica InfiniBand ShiverPeaks BS07-530815 15 m

The ShiverPeaks BS07-530815 15 m fibre optic cable is an OM5 multimode link engineered for high-speed data transmission in modern networking environments. Equipped with LC and SC connectors and a 50 µm core diameter, this full-duplex cable is intended to deliver reliable signal integrity and low attenuation across short to medium distances. Its construction and multimode OM5 specification make it suitable for dense cabling scenarios in data centers and enterprise network backbones.

Advantages

This OM5 cable supports enhanced multimode performance and is optimized for wavelength-division multiplexing in short-range, high-bandwidth applications. The presence of both LC and SC terminations provides flexible connectivity to various types of networking equipment. The 50 µm core enables compatibility with multimode transceivers and offers reduced modal dispersion compared with larger core sizes, which helps maintain signal quality across the 15 m length. The full-duplex design allows simultaneous bidirectional data flows for efficient link utilization.

Suitable for

• Data centre interconnects and patching between racks and switches
• High-speed networking links in enterprise LAN and SAN environments
• Multimode fibre applications using LC and SC ports
• Short- to medium-range optical connections up to 15 metres

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM5 multimode
• Cable length: 15 m
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector types: LC to SC
• Communication: full duplex

How to use

Route the fibre cable following standard cable management practices to avoid tight bends and excessive stress. Clean connector endfaces before mating to minimise insertion loss and ensure optimal performance. Insert the SC and LC connectors into compatible ports on networking equipment, ensuring secure seating. Test the link with appropriate optical test equipment or network diagnostics to confirm signal levels and full-duplex operation after installation.

Recommendations

Use the cable within its rated 15 m length for optimal attenuation and follow multimode transceiver specifications for OM5 to maximize bandwidth. Avoid repeated flexing near connector boots and store spare lengths coiled with generous bend radii. For installations in high-density racks, label both ends and consider using dust caps when ports are unused.
