Cavo InfiniBand/in fibra ottica ROLINE 2 m 2x LC viola OM4 50 µm

The ROLINE InfiniBand/fibre optic cable 2 m 2x LC Violet OM4 50 µm is a multimode fibre patch cable designed for high-speed data connections. Its 2 meter length and LC-to-LC connector configuration provide a compact, low-loss link for network equipment, storage systems and server interconnects. The OM4 fibre with 50 µm core diameter supports high bandwidth over short and medium distances and is commonly used in InfiniBand and modern Ethernet environments requiring reliable full-duplex transmission.

Advantages

This 2 m fibre optic cable delivers low attenuation and high modal bandwidth typical of OM4 multimode fibre, enabling efficient data transfer rates for demanding applications. The LC duplex connectors ensure secure mating with standard LC ports while the violet jacket allows easy visual identification in crowded patch panels. The cable’s construction is optimized for consistent signal integrity and reduced crosstalk in dense cabling installations.

Suitable for

• InfiniBand server and switch interconnects
• High-speed SAN and NAS storage links
• Short- to medium-range multimode Ethernet connections (e.g., 10/25/40/100 Gbps where OM4 is supported)
• Data centre patch panels and fibre distribution frames

Key specifications

• Cable type: Multimode fibre (OM4)
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: LC duplex (2x LC)
• Length: 2 m
• Colour: Violet
• Transmission mode: Full duplex

How to use

Inspect connectors and ports for dust or damage before installation. Align and insert each LC connector into the corresponding LC port until a tactile click confirms seating. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and excessive tension; maintain the manufacturer’s recommended minimum bend radius for multimode fibre. For duplex links, ensure transmit and receive channels are correctly paired. After installation, verify the link using appropriate optical test equipment or by confirming network link lights and performance metrics.

Recommendations

Handle the fibre cable by the connector housings and avoid touching the polished fibre endfaces. Use dust caps when connectors are not in use and perform endface cleaning before mating. For installations in high-density racks, label both ends and secure cable runs with gentle cable management to preserve optical performance.
