Cavo InfiniBand/in fibra ottica ROLINE 21158634 7 m 2x LC OS2

The ROLINE InfiniBand/fibre optic cable 21158634 is a 7 meter duplex patch cable with two LC connectors and OS2 single-mode fibre with a 9 µm core diameter. Designed for high-speed data transmission, it supports full-duplex communication and is intended for use in data centers, server rooms and professional networking environments where low attenuation and reliable long-distance connections are required.

Advantages

The cable combines single-mode OS2 fibre characteristics with compact LC connectors to deliver low signal loss and stable performance over longer distances compared to multimode alternatives. Its 7 m length offers flexible routing options within racks and between equipment, while the duplex configuration ensures simultaneous bidirectional data flow. The product is built for compatibility with InfiniBand and other fibre-based interfaces, reducing signal degradation and helping maintain high throughput.

Suitable for

• Interconnects between switches, routers and servers in data centers
• InfiniBand fabric links and high-performance computing clusters
• Longer-distance backbone links within enterprise network rooms
• Patch panel connections and optical distribution frames

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OS2 single-mode
• Core diameter: 9 µm
• Connector type: 2 × LC (duplex)
• Length: 7 m
• Mode: Full duplex
• Application: InfiniBand and fibre optic networking

How to use

Ensure both endpoints support LC connectors and single-mode fibre. Route the cable avoiding sharp bends and sources of mechanical stress; maintain the minimum bend radius recommended for OS2 fibres. Clean LC connector end faces before making connections to prevent contamination-related loss. Insert each LC duplex connector into the corresponding port until it clicks, verifying that transmit and receive channels are matched according to the networking equipment layout. After installation, run optical power or continuity tests to confirm signal integrity.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, store and handle the cable in a dry environment and avoid tight bends. Use appropriate dust caps when connectors are not in use and perform routine inspection and cleaning with approved fibre cleaning tools to maintain low attenuation and reliable links.
