Cavo ottico attivo AOC SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q30M 30M, marca CBO, 30 metri

The AOC SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q30M 30M active optical cable by CBO is a factory-terminated fiber assembly designed for SFP28 ports. At 30 meters length it provides a single, integrated solution that combines transceiver electronics and optical fiber in one cable, enabling high-speed short-reach connections between switches, servers and storage devices. The active optical design minimizes electromagnetic interference and eliminates the need for separate transceivers and patch cords in many data center and enterprise rack environments.

Advantages

This AOC supports SFP28 form-factor connectivity with an active optical link optimized for 25Gbps class interfaces. By integrating the transceiver and fiber it reduces installation time and cable clutter compared with discrete transceivers plus fibre patching. The optical medium provides better noise immunity and lower signal loss over the 30 m span compared with equivalent copper assemblies. The single-assembly design also simplifies port management and helps maintain predictable link performance in dense cabling environments.

Suitable for

• 25GbE short-reach links between switches in data center top-of-rack and aggregation setups
• Direct connections from servers to top-of-rack or leaf switches
• Interconnecting storage arrays or NVMe-over-Fabrics nodes within the same rack row
• Environments requiring reduced electromagnetic interference and cable consolidation

Key specifications

• Connector form-factor: SFP28-compatible
• Cable type: active optical cable (AOC) with integrated transceiver modules
• Nominal data rate: suitable for 25 Gbit/s class links
• Length: 30 meters
• Optical medium: multimode fiber with active transceiver electronics
• Typical use case: short-reach intra-rack and inter-rack links

How to use

Install the AOC by inserting each SFP28 end into compatible SFP28 ports on the network devices until the connector latches. Ensure both devices support SFP28 AOC modules and that the ports are powered and configured for the intended 25GbE link speed. No separate transceiver or fiber patch cable is required; manage the cable routing to avoid tight bends and protect the connector ends when not in use. Verify link status through the device management interface and monitor for any link faults during initial deployment.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, avoid bending the cable beyond manufacturer-specified bend radii and keep connectors free of dust. Use within typical data center ambient conditions and ensure compatibility with the host devices' supported SFP28 optics. For long-term deployments, periodically inspect connectors and secure cable routing to minimize mechanical stress.
