Cavo ottico attivo AOC SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q30M 30m, marca CBO, modello SFP28-AOC-30M-IA-BO

AOC SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q30M is a 30 metre active optical cable (AOC) engineered for SFP28 ports to deliver a fixed-length optical connection for 25/28 Gbps class transceiver interfaces. Supplied under the CBO brand and designed for data centre environments, this AOC provides a pre-terminated, low-power link that removes the need for separate transceivers and fibre patchcords. The cable assembly simplifies cabling between servers, switches and storage devices while helping to reduce rack congestion and improve airflow.

Advantages

The AOC offers a lightweight, flexible alternative to copper and discrete fibre assemblies, with integrated active electronics that support reliable high-speed signalling at 25/28 Gbps. As a fixed-length pre-terminated solution it eliminates field terminations and reduces installation time. Its low power consumption and compact SFP28 form-factor enable denser port deployment and easier cable routing in constrained racks and equipment bays.

Suitable for

• Server-to-switch connections in data centres and enterprise networks
• Switch-to-switch links within the same equipment room or rack
• Storage networking and SAN interconnects at short to medium reach
• High-density top-of-rack and spine-leaf architectures

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 form-factor on both ends
• Data rate: supports 25/28 Gbps class interfaces
• Length: 30 metres fixed length
• Cable type: active optical cable with integrated transceiver electronics
• Power: low-power operation suitable for dense deployments
• Application: short- to medium-reach direct interconnects in racks and equipment rooms

How to use

Install the AOC by inserting each SFP28 module end into the appropriate SFP28 port until it latches. Ensure both devices support 25/28 Gbps SFP28 AOC connections and that link settings on the host devices are configured for the required speed and lane mapping. No additional fibre patching or optical transceivers are required. Verify link status and perform standard network tests after installation to confirm connectivity and performance.

Recommendations

Route the cable to avoid tight bends and mechanical strain; comply with the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius to preserve optical performance. Use the 30 m AOC for intra-rack or adjacent-room links where a pre-terminated solution reduces installation time and cabling complexity. Confirm compatibility with switch and server vendor hardware and firmware for SFP28 AOC modules before deployment.
