Active Optical Cable BlueOptics 980-9I539-00A030 SFP28 25GBASE-SR Ethernet/Infiniband 30 m is a factory-terminated duplex fiber link with integrated SFP28 connectors that supports 25GBASE-SR data rates for Ethernet and InfiniBand networks. The 30-meter fixed-length AOC provides a low-latency, high-bandwidth connection between servers, top-of-rack switches and storage systems in short-reach data center environments where an SFP28-compatible optical link is required.

Advantages

This BlueOptics active optical cable delivers consistent 25 Gbit/s lanes over multimode fiber with low power consumption and minimal signal loss due to its integrated transceivers and pre-tested factory termination. The fixed duplex construction eliminates the need for separate modules and patch cords, reducing insertion points and simplifying cable management. Its SFP28 form-factor ensures compatibility with equipment that accepts standardized short-reach optical pluggable interfaces for high-density racks.

Key specifications

How to use

Install the cable by inserting each SFP28 connector into the appropriate SFP28 ports on the source and destination devices, ensuring the transceiver latch engages. Verify that both devices recognize the optical link and negotiate the proper 25GBASE-SR speed. For hot-plug capable equipment, insertion and removal can be performed while systems are running, following the host and switch vendor guidelines. Do not bend the cable beyond the recommended minimum bend radius and avoid crushing or kinking the duplex fiber to maintain signal integrity.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, route the AOC away from high-traffic areas and strong electromagnetic sources, maintain the manufacturer-recommended bend radius, and confirm compatibility with the host equipment's SFP28 optical interface. Periodically inspect connectors and cable integrity; replace the AOC if visual damage or persistent link errors occur.
