CBO AOC SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q5M 5 m cavo ottico attivo

The CBO AOC SFP28 BlueOptics BO272703Q5M 5 m active optical cable is a factory-terminated, plug-and-play fiber interconnect engineered for SFP28 ports. With a fixed 5 meter length and active optical transceivers integrated in the cable ends, it supports 25GbE links between switches, servers and storage equipment. The design reduces electromagnetic interference and eliminates need for separate transceivers and fiber patch cords, simplifying short-reach connections inside data center racks and telecom enclosures.

Advantages

This BlueOptics AOC delivers low-latency, high-bandwidth connectivity with reduced power consumption compared to some copper alternatives. Factory termination ensures consistent optical performance and compatibility with SFP28 ports without field termination. The integrated optical path and cable sheath improve electromagnetic immunity and lower the risk of crosstalk in dense rack environments. The fixed 5 m length provides a predictable channel budget and tidy routing in standard rack layouts.

Suitable for

• 25GbE uplinks between top-of-rack switches and aggregation switches
• Server-to-switch connections in data center and enterprise racks
• Short-reach storage network interconnects (SAN/NVMe over Fabrics) within a rack or adjacent racks
• Environments where minimal electromagnetic interference and plug-and-play installation are required

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 form-factor with integrated transceivers
• Supported data rate: 25 Gbit/s per channel
• Cable type: Active optical cable (AOC) with factory-terminated fiber
• Length: 5 meters fixed
• Typical usage: short-reach data center and telecom interconnects

How to use

Install the cable by inserting each SFP28 connector into the corresponding SFP28 port on the devices to be linked, ensuring proper orientation and a secure latch. No external transceivers or field termination are required; the AOC is ready for plug-and-play operation. After connection, verify link lights and host system interface status to confirm the 25GbE link is active and negotiating at the expected speed.

Recommendations

Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and excessive strain on connector ends; follow the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius guidelines for optical cables. Use the fixed 5 m length for rack-to-rack or server-to-switch links within the same aisle to maintain optimal signal integrity. For equipment compatibility, confirm that SFP28 ports accept active optical cable modules and that device firmware does not restrict third-party AOCs.
