How to use

Prepare the single-mode fiber by stripping and cleaving according to the connector manufacturer’s instructions. Insert the prepared fiber into the field-assembly SC simplex UPC plug until it seats firmly. Secure any fastening or crimping elements as specified and test the connection using appropriate loss-measurement equipment to confirm acceptable insertion loss and return loss values.

Recommendations

Use appropriate fiber preparation tools and test instruments. Handle the UPC ferrule carefully to avoid contamination; clean the end-face before final connection. Follow local safety procedures when working with fiber optics and dispose of fiber scraps properly.
