Equip Cavo patch in fibra ottica SC/SC, OM4, 5 m

The equip® Fiber Optic Adapter Cable SC/SC OM4 5m is designed for high-performance fiber connections. With a 50 µm core diameter and OM4 multimode specification, this 5-meter patch cable delivers reliable full-duplex transmission for data centres, enterprise networks and telecom applications. Both ends terminate in SC connectors for easy insertion and a consistent optical interface.

Advantages

This OM4 SC/SC patch cable is manufactured from quality components to minimise insertion loss and maintain good endface geometry and return loss. The 50 µm core supports higher bandwidth and longer modal dispersion performance compared with lower-grade multimode fibers, while full-duplex configuration enables simultaneous bidirectional data flow. The product is available in a standard 5 m length for flexible rack-to-rack or equipment-to-equipment connections.

Suitable for

• Data centre trunking and patch panels
• Enterprise LAN and campus backbone links
• Telecommunications equipment interconnects
• High-speed multimode networking (OM4)

How to use

Inspect connector endfaces for dust and contamination before installation and clean if necessary using an appropriate fiber cleaning tool. Route the 5 m SC/SC OM4 patch cable between equipment ports or patch panel ports, avoiding tight bends and excessive tension. Insert SC connectors until they click into place to ensure a secure mechanical connection. For duplex links, ensure correct pairing of transmit and receive channels at both ends.

Recommendations

Store and handle the fiber cable following standard fibre-optic best practices: avoid sharp bends, protect connectors with dust caps when not in use and perform endface cleaning before mating to maintain optimal signal quality.
