Cavo in fibra ottica Alcasa LW-805LS4 5m LC SC viola

The Alcasa LW-805LS4 5m LC SC Violet is an OM4 multimode fibre optic patch cable designed for high-density networking environments. With LC connector on one end and SC connector on the other, and a 50 µm core diameter, this 5-metre patch lead supports full duplex data transmission over short to medium distances. The violet jacket provides color-coded identification for structured cabling, while the OM4 multimode specification ensures higher bandwidth and reduced modal dispersion compared with lower-grade multimode fibres.

Advantages

This fibre optic cable combines standardized LC and SC connectors for wide compatibility with transceivers, switches and patch panels. The OM4 multimode core yields improved performance for 10 Gbit/s and higher short-reach links, offering lower attenuation and better bandwidth-distance product than OM3. The 5 m length is suitable for patching in racks and between adjacent equipment, and the violet jacket enables easy visual identification within a cabling bundle. The cable construction is intended for reliable mechanical performance and repeatable connections in data-centre and enterprise installations.

Suitable for

• 10 Gbit/s and 40 Gbit/s short-reach network links in data centers
• Patch panels, media converters and optical transceivers requiring LC-to-SC connections
• Server rack interconnects and switch-to-switch cabling within a room
• Structured cabling installations that use colour-coding for identification

Key specifications

• Type: Multimode OM4 fibre optic patch cable
• Length: 5 metres
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connectors: LC (one end) to SC (other end)
• Transmission: Full duplex
• Jacket colour: Violet
• Typical applications: Short to medium distance high-speed links

How to use

Inspect connectors for dust or damage before use and clean with appropriate fibre cleaning tools if required. Align the LC connector with the LC receptacle and the SC connector with the SC port on the target devices, then insert gently until the connectors click or seat. Ensure both ends are securely connected and that the cable is not sharply bent or kinked along its length; maintain the manufacturer recommended minimum bend radius to avoid increased attenuation. For testing and commissioning, verify link integrity and optical power levels using suitable test equipment.

Recommendations

Store and route the cable in cable management trays or ties to prevent excessive strain. Use dust caps when connectors are not engaged and avoid exposing the fibre ends to contaminants. For critical links, perform insertion loss and return loss measurements after installation and follow established cabling standards for labeling and colour-coding.
