InLine cavo duplex in fibra ottica SC/SC 50/125µm OM3 15m

The InLine Fiber Optical Duplex Cable SC/SC 50/125µm OM3 15m is a duplex multimode fiber patch cable designed for reliable high-speed data transmission in local area networks and data center links. It uses 50/125 µm multimode cores conforming to OM3 standard and SC duplex connectors on both ends, offering low insertion loss and consistent optical performance across multimode systems. The 15 meter length provides flexibility for rack-to-rack connections, patch panel routing and equipment interconnection in server rooms, offices and laboratory setups.

Advantages

This OM3 duplex fiber cable supports higher bandwidth and extended reach for multimode systems compared to lower OM ratings, making it suitable for 10 Gb/s and certain higher-speed multimode applications. SC/SC duplex terminations deliver simple push-pull mating with clear polarity marking, while the standardized 50/125 µm core and cladding dimensions ensure compatibility with common multimode transceivers and patch panels. The cable’s construction aims to minimize attenuation and maintain stable optical characteristics over its length.

Suitable for

• Rack-to-rack connections in data centers and server rooms
• Patch panel to switch or transceiver links
• High-speed multimode network segments (including 10 Gb/s links)
• Laboratory and test bench fiber interconnects

Key specifications

• Fiber type: Multimode, OM3
• Core/cladding diameter: 50/125 µm
• Connector type: SC to SC duplex
• Cable length: 15 m
• Polarity: Duplex (A/B) standard
• Typical application: Multimode short- to medium-range optical links

How to use

Route the duplex fiber cable avoiding sharp bends and excessive tensile stress, keeping bend radius within the manufacturer’s recommended limits for multimode fiber. Clean connector endfaces before mating using appropriate fiber cleaning tools to reduce insertion loss and back reflections. Insert SC connectors into matching SC duplex adapters or transceiver ports following correct polarity to preserve transmit/receive alignment. When deploying in racks or trays, secure the cable to prevent strain on connectors and maintain orderly routing to minimize the risk of damage.

Recommendations

For reliable long-term performance, use fiber cleaning pens or lint-free wipes with isopropyl alcohol on connector endfaces before each connection, avoid tight bends or kinks, and store spare lengths in coils with a radius greater than the minimum bend radius. Verify link performance with an OTDR or power meter after installation to confirm acceptable attenuation levels for the intended network speed.
