Sonda di tiro Extralink Pilot, fibra di vetro FRP, diametro 11 mm, lunghezza 350 m, giallo

The Extralink Pilot cable pulling rod is a fibreglass (FRP) rod with an 11 mm diameter and 350 m length, supplied on a dedicated unwind stand. It is engineered for installing and routing telecommunication and power cables through ducts, conduits and underground passages. The rod core combines flexibility and longitudinal rigidity to pass bends while resisting kinking; a yellow polyethylene outer coating protects the fibre, improves sliding properties and provides high visibility during installation and retrieval.

Advantages

The fibreglass construction offers corrosion resistance and consistent mechanical properties over time, while the 11 mm diameter balances stiffness and flexibility for confined pathways. The yellow PE coating reduces friction and protects against abrasion. The product is supplied on a powder-coated metal rack with a manual brake for controlled unwinding and a guiding eyelet that stabilises the rod as it feeds into ducts. The rack design supports transport, storage and straightforward deployment on site.

How to use

Mount the rack on a stable surface and release the manual brake to unwind the rod. Feed the guiding head into the duct or conduit while maintaining steady tension; use the guiding eyelet on the rack to stabilise the feed. Advance the rod until the required length has been passed through the route, then attach the cable to the guiding head and pull the rod back to draw the cable through. If reversal is required, rewind using the brake to control drum rotation. Inspect the rod and coating after use and store the rack in a dry environment.

Recommendations

Use appropriate personal protective equipment when handling the rod, avoid sharp bends beyond the product's minimum bend radius, and do not exceed tensile or pulling loads recommended by site safety standards. Keep the guiding head and coating clean to maintain low-friction operation and replace the guiding head if damaged to protect cables during installation.
