Unità SSD WD BLACK SN850X 8TB M.2 PCIe G4 Game

The WD BLACK SN850X 8TB M.2 PCIe G4 Game SSD delivers high-capacity, high-performance NVMe storage in the compact M.2 2280 form factor. Designed for gaming systems and performance workstations, this solid state drive provides sustained bandwidth and low latency for large game libraries, content creation assets and fast system responsiveness. The drive supports PCIe Gen4 interface to achieve the performance levels modern titles and professional applications require while incorporating thermal controls to reduce throttling under load.

Advantages

The drive offers sequential read speeds up to 7300 MB/s and sequential write speeds up to 6000 MB/s, enabling rapid game loading, faster level transitions and reduced asset streaming delays. Its 8TB capacity provides room for extensive game collections, media files and project archives without frequent housekeeping. The M.2 NVMe design occupies minimal space on motherboards and compatible laptops, while integrated thermal management and power efficiency preserve sustained performance during extended use.

Suitable for

• High-end gaming PCs and gaming consoles with M.2 PCIe Gen4 support
• Content creation workflows: video editing, 3D rendering and asset libraries
• System drives where fast boot times and application responsiveness are required
• Large local game libraries and media archives that demand high-capacity, high-speed storage

Key specifications

• Form factor: M.2 2280
• Interface: PCIe Gen4 NVMe
• Maximum sequential read speed: up to 7300 MB/s
• Maximum sequential write speed: up to 6000 MB/s

How to use

Install the SSD into an available M.2 slot on a compatible motherboard or laptop that supports PCIe Gen4. Secure the module with the mounting screw and ensure the device firmware and system BIOS are updated to the latest versions for optimal compatibility. Initialize and format the drive within your operating system before use, then migrate games, applications or system images as required. For use as a boot drive, clone the existing system drive or perform a clean OS installation following standard procedures.

Recommendations

Place the drive in a motherboard slot with adequate airflow and follow manufacturer guidance on heatsinks or thermal pads if heavy sustained workloads are expected. Keep firmware and drivers up to date and monitor temperatures during intense use to avoid thermal throttling. Use the 8TB capacity for prioritized local storage of frequently played titles and active project files while maintaining backup copies on separate media or cloud storage.
