BlueOptics 4Z57A10846 cavo in fibra ottica InfiniBand 1 m LC viola OM4

The BlueOptics 4Z57A10846 InfiniBand fibre optic cable is a 1 m LC-to-LC patch cable designed for high-speed data transmission in structured cabling and data center environments. It uses OM4 multimode fibre, featuring a 125 µm core diameter suitable for short to medium reach InfiniBand links and other high-bandwidth interconnects. The cable’s violet jacket color aids quick identification in complex rack and patch panel setups while the LC connectors provide compact, reliable terminations for modern transceivers and ports.

Advantages

This OM4 fibre cable supports higher bandwidth and improved modal performance compared with lower-grade multimode fibres, enabling longer reach and better signal integrity for 10/40/100 Gb and InfiniBand systems. The LC connectors ensure a small form factor and secure mating with LC ports, reducing panel space and simplifying cable management. The 1 m length is convenient for short patching between adjacent equipment or within patch cabinets, while the violet jacket provides visual distinction to prevent accidental disconnection or routing errors.

Suitable for

• InfiniBand short-reach interconnects in compute clusters and HPC environments
• 10/40/100 Gigabit Ethernet links within data centers and server rooms
• Patching between switches, transceivers and patch panels where LC connectors are required
• Environments needing colour-coded cabling for fast identification and maintenance

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM4 multimode
• Connector type: LC to LC
• Length: 1 m
• Core/cladding diameter: 125 µm core-compatible multimode fibre
• Jacket colour: violet
• Application: short- to medium-reach high-bandwidth links

How to use

Inspect both LC connector endfaces for dust or contamination before insertion and, if necessary, clean with appropriate fibre cleaning tools. Align each LC connector with the mating port and insert until it clicks to ensure proper seating. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and maintain the recommended minimum bend radius for multimode fibre to prevent signal loss. When disconnecting, depress the latch and pull the connector straight out to avoid damaging the ferrule.

Recommendations

Store unused cables coiled with a gentle radius, avoid tight wrapping, and label both ends when used in dense racks. Use OM4-certified transceivers and maintain cleanliness of connectors to preserve signal performance and reliability.
