Cavo ottico attivo SFP+ CBO AOC-SFP-10G-5M-BO — 5 m, 10 Gbit/s

The CBO AOC-SFP-10G-5M-BO is a 5-metre SFP+ active optical cable that supports 10 Gbit/s data transfer. It is engineered to connect SFP+ ports on switches, servers and network interface cards, providing a direct optical link with lower latency and electrical isolation compared with copper twinax solutions. The cable is intended for rack-to-rack or chassis-to-chassis connections in data centres and enterprise networking racks where reliable 10Gb connectivity and simplified deployment are required.

Advantages

This SFP+ active optical cable delivers consistent 10 Gbit/s performance over a 5 m distance while reducing electromagnetic interference and heat generation. Its plug-and-play design enables quick installation without additional transceivers or fibre patching, and its compact SFP+ form factor saves port space. The optical medium offers improved signal integrity for longer reach than passive copper assemblies, supporting stable links in dense networking environments.

Suitable for

• Short-distance 10Gb links between switches in the same rack or adjacent racks
• Connections from servers to top-of-rack switches or aggregation switches
• High-density networking environments in data centres and server rooms
• Environments requiring electrical isolation to reduce ground-loop issues

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP+ on both ends
• Length: 5 metres
• Maximum data rate: 10 Gbit/s
• Transmission medium: active optical cable (AOC)
• Typical use: short-range 10Gb links for data centre and enterprise networks
• Form factor: hot-pluggable SFP+ compatible assembly

How to use

Insert each SFP+ connector into the corresponding SFP+ port on network switches, servers or NICs until the latch engages. Ensure ports are powered and compatible with SFP+ optical assemblies; the link should negotiate automatically at 10 Gbit/s. For best results, route the cable to avoid sharp bends and secure it within racks to prevent strain on connectors. If link negotiation does not occur, verify port configuration and firmware compatibility on both endpoints.

Recommendations

Store and handle the cable in a clean, dry environment. Avoid tight bends and excessive pulling force; follow typical SFP+ handling practices. Use this AOC for short-range 10Gb connections where reduced interference and simplified deployment are priorities. Check switch and server documentation for supported SFP+ active optical assemblies if any vendor compatibility settings are required.
