Cavo AOC BlueOptics AOC-QSFP-40G-3M-BO 3m QSFP connettore maschio

The BlueOptics AOC-QSFP-40G-3M-BO is a 3-meter active optical cable (AOC) with QSFP connectors on both ends, engineered for high-speed data transmission in data centers and enterprise networks. This cable supports 40 Gbps link rates and offers a compact, low-latency connection between switches, routers and servers. Its factory-terminated design eliminates the need for field splicing and simplifies installation in dense cable environments.

Advantages

The cable delivers consistent multi-gigabit performance over a short reach with low insertion loss and immunity to electromagnetic interference. Being an active optical cable, it combines fiber-optic signal quality with a plug-and-play form factor, reducing power draw and heat compared with equivalent electrical copper assemblies. The QSFP connectors ensure broad compatibility with networking equipment that accepts QSFP interfaces, while the 3 m length balances reach and cable management in rack and row deployments.

Suitable for

• High-density switch-to-switch connections in data center topologies
• Router and server uplinks requiring 40 Gbps links
• Leaf-spine architectures and short-reach aggregation links
• Environments where EMI immunity and reduced cable bulk are needed

Key specifications

• Type: Active Optical Cable (AOC)
• Connector type: QSFP male to QSFP male
• Nominal data rate: 40 Gbps
• Length: 3 meters
• Transmission medium: optical fiber with active electronics
• Typical use: short-reach, high-speed interconnects
• Physical form factor: compact, flexible cable assembly for rack deployments

How to use

Install the BlueOptics AOC-QSFP-40G-3M-BO by inserting each QSFP connector firmly into the corresponding QSFP port on networking equipment until the latch engages. Ensure linked devices are powered and configured for 40 Gbps operation; the cable requires no field termination and is ready for immediate use. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and excessive stress on connector ends; maintain the recommended bend radius for optical assemblies to preserve signal integrity.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, verify compatibility with the QSFP interfaces on your switches, routers or servers and confirm firmware/driver support for 40 Gbps links. Avoid running the AOC alongside high-power electrical cables for extended distances despite its EMI immunity, and store or route the cable to prevent kinks. Use in rack and data center topologies for short-reach, high-density connections where low latency and compact cabling are priorities.
