Cavo in fibra ottica Helos 5m OS2 SC/SC

The Helos 5m OS2 SC/SC fibre optic cable is a single-mode patch lead engineered for reliable high-speed data transmission over short to medium distances. Featuring a 9 µm core diameter and SC/SC connectors on both ends, the cable provides full duplex connectivity suitable for interconnecting active equipment in network racks, patch panels and optical transceivers. Its OS2 fibre type is optimized for low attenuation and stable signal quality, making the cable appropriate for data centre links, backbone runs and telecom applications where minimal loss and consistent performance are required.

Advantages

This SC/SC fibre patch cord combines single-mode OS2 performance with a standard 5 m length for flexible routing in server rooms and telecommunication cabinets. The 9 µm core supports precise optical coupling for transceivers and is manufactured to reduce insertion loss and back reflection. Durable connector housings and strain relief protect the fibre at termination points, while the jacket provides physical protection against kinking and abrasion during installation and maintenance.

Suitable for

• Connecting optical transceivers and network equipment in data centres
• Patch panel terminations and rack-to-rack links
• FTTx and telecom backbone segments requiring single-mode cabling

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OS2 (single-mode)
• Core diameter: 9 µm
• Connector type: SC to SC, duplex
• Cable length: 5 m
• Transmission: full duplex
• Typical applications: data centre, telecommunications, network backbone

How to use

Route the Helos 5m OS2 SC/SC cable between the two intended optical ports, ensuring the SC connectors are clean and free of dust before mating. Align the SC connectors with the port adapters and push until they click into place to secure the connection. For removal, depress the connector latch and withdraw straight out to avoid stressing the ferrule. Maintain gentle bend radii during placement and avoid tight loops to preserve optical performance.

Recommendations

Inspect connectors with appropriate cleaning tools and visual inspection equipment before each installation. Use dedicated fibre cleaning wipes or a fibre connector cleaner to remove contamination. Store unused cables coiled without tight bends and protect connector end faces with dust caps when not connected. For long links or mission-critical runs, consider testing end-to-end insertion loss and return loss to verify compliance with network requirements.
