Cavo in fibra ottica S/CONN ShiverPeaks 77903/4 3 m ST viola

The ShiverPeaks S/CONN 77903/4 is a 3 m OM4 multimode fibre optic cable with ST connectors on both ends, designed for reliable full-duplex data transmission. With a 50 µm core diameter and violet jacket, this cable supports high-speed links over short to medium distances and is suitable for installations where reduced modal dispersion and consistent performance are required. The cable's design focuses on stable optical performance and easy insertion and removal of ST connectors in patch panels and networking equipment.

Advantages

This OM4 fibre optic cable provides low attenuation and improved bandwidth compared with lower-grade multimode fibres, enabling higher data rates and extended reach in campus and data centre environments. The ST connector pair offers a secure bayonet-style coupling for stable connections, and the 3 m length balances flexibility with minimal excess cabling. The violet jacket allows quick visual identification of OM4 multimode infrastructure within cable bundles.

Suitable for

• Interconnections between switches, transceivers and patch panels in data centres
• High-performance computing clusters and server racks
• Short- to medium-range multimode fibre links in enterprise networks
• Lab environments and test setups requiring standardized OM4 multimode cabling

Key specifications

• Fibre type: OM4 multimode core
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: ST on both ends, bayonet-style coupling
• Length: 3 metres
• Transmission mode: Full duplex (duplex pair)
• Jacket colour: Violet for OM4 identification
• Typical application: Short- to medium-range high-bandwidth multimode links

How to use

Inspect connector end faces for cleanliness before installation and clean with appropriate fibre cleaning tools if necessary. Route the cable without sharp bends, keeping bend radius within manufacturer-recommended limits for multimode fibres. Plug each ST connector into the corresponding ST receptacle until the bayonet lock engages, ensuring correct orientation and secure seating. For duplex connections, verify transmit and receive channels are matched between devices. After installation, test the link with suitable optical test equipment to confirm attenuation and link integrity.

Recommendations

Store and handle the cable to avoid excessive bending, pulling or crushing; maintain a minimum bend radius and avoid kinks. Use dust caps on connectors when not connected, and perform end-face inspection and cleaning to maintain optimal optical performance. Select OM4 multimode fibre for applications requiring higher bandwidth and improved modal performance over standard multimode types.
