Cavo jumper in fibra ottica ROLINE LC/LC OM4 50/125 µm viola 15 m

The ROLINE Fibre Optic Jumper Cable LC/LC OM4 50/125 µm, 15 m, is a duplex multimode patch cable designed for high-bandwidth short- and medium-range network links. The cable uses OM4 laser-optimized 50 µm fiber to support current 1 and 10 Gbit/s networks and future 40 and 100 Gbit/s systems, and comes with LC connectors on both ends in a purple jacket for easy identification.

Advantages

OM4 fiber provides extended bandwidth (laser bandwidth ~4700 MHz·km), enabling longer reach at 10 Gbit/s (up to 550 m) compared with lower-grade multimode fibers. The duplex LC/LC assembly and quality connector termination deliver low insertion loss and low reflectance, offering reliable performance in data centers, building backbones, and campus networks. At lower rates (100 Mbit/s or 1 Gbit/s) performance is comparable to OM2/OM3, while OM4 shows clear benefits at 10 Gbit/s and 40 Gbit/s.

Suitable for

• Data center interconnects and server connections
• Building backbone and campus backbone links
• High-performance computing clusters and storage networks
• Ethernet, Fibre Channel and OIF multimode applications

Key specifications

• Fiber type: OM4 multimode, 50/125 µm
• Connectors: LC to LC (duplex)
• Length: 15 m
• Color: Purple
• Laser bandwidth: ≈4700 MHz·km
• Supported reach: up to 550 m at 10 Gbit/s (typical)

How to use

Install the jumper by plugging each LC connector into the corresponding LC duplex ports on networking equipment such as switches, transceivers or patch panels. Ensure connectors are clean before mating to minimize insertion loss. Route the cable with gentle bends, avoiding tight bends and sharp edges, and secure with appropriate cable management to prevent strain on the connectors.

Recommendations

For best performance, use OM4 jumpers for 10 Gbit/s and higher links or where extended reach and lower modal dispersion are required; verify transceiver and equipment compatibility with OM4 multimode fiber and follow standard cleaning and handling procedures to maintain low loss and reflection.
